=Book recently read: How Should A Person Be? by Sheila Heti=

This book is irresistible mind popcorn. I gobbled it up, page after tasty page, in two days. The hype it received was over-the-top. Heti is not Helene Cixous or the 21st-century Virginia Woolf. How Should A Person Be? is just not that deep, nor is it stylistically beautiful or all that innovative, but it does say some poignant and powerful things in it’s plainsong prose that were personally relevant to me—and apparently to a lot of other self-absorbed, artistically-inclined people—whose identity, for whatever reason, failed to cohere around a stable center, making problematic what seems to come so naturally for most.
