Looking through old boxes this morning, I found this piece. I remember when I was doing it I was thinking to myself, "Wow, why hasn't anyone ever thought of doing something like this before!?" Years later, I discovered a guy by the name of Kurt Schwitters and felt like a complete moron.* It was as if I'd laid claim to the discovery of the cloud or the chocolate chip cookie. Thank god I'd kept my excitement—and my ignorance—to myself.
*(If you absolutely must feel like an ass, it's always best to do it retrospectively, at a distance of several years, and privately).
